Assistant Project Manager, PMO

San Diego, CA

QSI is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Coordinator to join our team in this high-growth opportunity position. In this entry-level role, you will be responsible for assisting the PMO with administrative tasks, and will have the opportunity to co-lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Develop templates, tools, and processes to make Quantum-Si’s product development more efficient.
  • Process complex inputs and develop straight-forward, easy-to-adopt practices and tools.
  • Create push and pull communication techniques for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist and co-lead end-to-end cross-functional product development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards
  • Work closely with R&D, Product Management, Operations, Quality, and other departments to ensure project priorities and decisions are consistent between teams and corporate strategic plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies, to ensure successful project execution
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues to minimize potential impacts to project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Define, measure, and report key performance indicators, enabling team members to measure and improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Assist and co-lead the team through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Assist and co-lead team through preparation of data reviews, phase gate reviews, and other go/ no go decisions required by Executive Leadership
  • Apply and maintain project management best practices
  • Ensure milestones are reached and deadlines are met throughout project lifecycle
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, application users, and program owners
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required


Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in project management, business administration, relevant scientific or technical discipline required
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in the Life science/Biotech Industry
  • Experience with both agile and waterfall project management, CAPM or PMP Certification Preferred
  • Experience with Project Management methods such as Project Schedule / Gantt, work breakdown structures, identification of the critical path is required
  • Understanding and experience with the product development process (PDP), taking a product from concept to market availability
  • Technically savvy with experience using collaboration tools such as: Confluence, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Microsoft Office products, Power BI, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced culture
  • Big-picture thinking with an attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be organized and efficient, with effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and address with solutions-oriented approach


The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $90,000 - $120,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position,  an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
