Scientist III, Chemistry

As a member of the Reagent Development Team, you will be leading the effort in developing novel bioconjugation reactions on peptides from protein digests. Your innovation will be incorporated into the library prep workflow of Quantum-Si’s ground-breaking single-molecule protein sequencing platform. 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:  

• Develop innovative bioconjugation methods to functionalize peptides. 
• Streamline Quantum-Si’s library prep workflow with the new bioconjugation methods. 
• Develop analytical methods to study samples at various stages of library prep.  
• Provide synthetic and analytical chemistry support to other R&D teams. 
• Write preparation and analytical protocols. 

Qualifications 

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 

• MS in chemistry/related fields with 4+ years of industrial experience or a PhD in chemistry/related fields. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong track record of scientific publications/patent application.    
• Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry.  
• Hands-on experience with automated chromatography purification (HPLC, FPLC, Combiflash, etc).  
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.  

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!): 

• In-depth knowledge of biocatalysis or experience with enzyme-catalyzed organic synthesis. 
• Experience with protein expression. 
• Experience with LC-MS/MS operation and data analysis. 

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $75,000-$120,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position,  an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
